Easy Ways to Help Your Rescue Stand Out (Even If You’re Doing It All Yourself)
Share
With so many amazing rescues doing incredible work, it can be hard to make yours stand out—especially when you’re juggling everything yourself. But the good news? You don’t need a big team or a giant budget to make a lasting impression.
Whether you’re prepping for an event or just trying to build more awareness online, a few thoughtful touches can make your rescue more recognizable, approachable, and memorable.
Here are a few of my favorite low-effort ways to help your rescue shine!
🎨 1. Stick With a Visual Style That Feels Like You
Consistent visuals go a long way—whether it’s your logo, colors, or even fonts. Using the same look across your kennel cards, signs, and social media posts helps people start recognizing your rescue right away. Canva makes this super easy, and you don’t have to be a designer to make it look good!
📲 2. Make It Easy for People to Support You
Not everyone who stops by your table is ready to adopt—and that’s okay! Make sure you have quick ways for people to help in other ways, like donating, following you online, or sharing your info. A simple QR code linking to your website, wishlist, or donation page can make a huge difference.
🖼️ 3. Add Personal Touches to Your Setup
Your table at events is a chance to tell your rescue’s story. Even small details can leave a big impression. One thing I offer to help with that is a custom adoption event placemat—designed with your logo and a QR code that links wherever you'd like (your donation page, Facebook, website—you choose!). It’s made to sit on your main table where you greet visitors, fill out apps, and talk about your mission. It’s a simple way to make your space feel more polished and welcoming without adding anything else to your plate.
📖 4. Let People In on the Stories
People connect with animals through stories—not just names and breeds. Share quick updates, little wins, or even behind-the-scenes moments. A before-and-after photo or a silly moment from a foster pet can help someone feel like they’re part of what you’re building.
Standing out doesn’t mean doing more—it just means being intentional with the things you’re already doing. Little details matter. And when you find small ways to make your rescue feel more “you,” people notice.
If a custom placemat sounds like something that could help your table pop, you can check it out here. And if you have your own favorite ways to make your rescue stand out, I’d love to hear them!
